Programa Titirijai 2004 PDF

Welcome to Titirijai 2005!

The 23rd Titirijai Festival will be held from 26 November to 4 December and will feature 19 companies from 8 different countries and 5 autonomous regions in Spain. In total, the festival will include 139 performances of 20 different plays.

This year we have one less venue for performances, since the Leidor Theatre-Cinema is currently closed for major refurbishment work. We have therefore been obliged to reduce the number of companies and performances, although we firmly believe that the quality of the selected works will more than compensate for this provisional drop in the number of events on offer.

Our programme this year seeks to pay tribute to the 4th centenary of Don Quijote and the bicentenary of Hans Christian Andersen, with two productions designed especially to commemorate these important anniversaries..

The star of Titirijai 2005 will doubtless be the ?Window onto Chinese Puppetry Art'?, a wide-ranging section focusing specifically on the age-old art of puppet theatre in this Asian country that has managed to combine economic growth and development with the preservation of its culture and traditions, among which Puppet Theatre plays an important role. Performances by the very best specialists in string, glove, rod and shadow puppetry will be accompanied by the largest exhibition of Chinese puppets ever put on display, enabling viewers to gain a privileged insight into the rich, fascinating world of Chinese puppetry.
