With the 54th edition of the Tolosa International Choral Contest concluded, the Basque choir Suhar Korua has won the Kutxa Grand Prize together with the nomination to participate in the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing to be held in Varna in September 2024. The Basque choir was also awarded the Basque Government award for the best interpretation of a Basque work after singing Ipar haize hotz zuria, by Xabier Sarasola.

Suhar Korua also won first prize in the Basque Song and Popular Music category for chamber choirs. In this section, the second prize went to La Pura Fuente Choir, from Japan; and the third was ex-aequo between Somniun Ensemble, from Finland, and Shanghai Rainbow Chamber Singers, from China.

Also in the Polyphony category, the highest-rated performances were those of Suhar Korua, followed by those of Shanghai Rainbow Chamber Singers and Somnium Ensemble, in that order. The public agreed with the jury when it came to praising the fantastic work of Suhar Korua and awarding them the public award.

In vocal groups, at the Sacred Music category, the first prize went to Italy, to the Coro Giovanile With Us.
