These have not been easy times for the Tolosa International Puppet Festival, but despite all the difficulties that may have been encountered, this year is for celebration. It is four decades since it began, in a modest way, in this Gipuzkoan town of Tolosa. Led by Miguel Arretxe and Idoya Otegui, Titirijai gained prestige and recognition, thanks to the companies that invade the streets and theaters of Leidor and TOPIC, and even go to other towns to expand the Festival.

Family and adult audiences will also be able to visit Tolosa this year to enjoy shows based on the art of puppetry, from November 19 to 27. This year, in addition, a new stage begins in TOPIC under a new co-direction by Juanjo Herrero and Estitxu Zaldua, taking over from the hitherto director Idoya Otegui. This is a generational change, a transition that this team will carry out and they will continue working so that Titirijai continues to be the prestigious International Puppet Festival that it has been for so many years.

For this reason, to enjoy this 40th edition of this festival together, we hope to be able to share with you (who are essential) the shows, conferences, autumn school, exhibitions and tributes that will be held in Tolosa.
