This year we will welcome vocal ensembles from Indonesia, Korea, Latvia, Germany, Slovenia, Italy and the United Kingdom, who will compete in the Polyphony and Folk categories. And in the children’s category, we will be visited by choirs from Bulgaria, Indonesia, the Czech Republic and the Granada-based choir ‘Pequeñas voces de La Alhambra’.

In the run-up to the festival, on Saturday 24th, a special concert will be held in the Capilla de las Jesuitinas, featuring the KEA Vocal Group, the Easo Choir and guitarist Marco Socías, to launch the new CD of choral music by Pablo Sorozabal, produced by the KEA Vocal Group. There will also be a launch for the book *Pablo Sorozabal: Choral Music*, organised by the Basque Country Choir Confederation.

In the first session of the Choral Competition, on 29 October, chamber choirs from Germany, Indonesia and Slovenia will perform in the Polyphony and Folklore categories. The following day, choirs from Korea, the United Kingdom and Latvia will take to the stage, also in the Polyphony and Folklore categories.

On Saturday 31st, we will be treated to performances by the children’s choirs: Pequeñas voces de La Alhambra (Spain), the Bulgarian National Radio Children’s Choir (Bulgaria), the Kajetán Opera Children’s Choir (Czech Republic) and the Saint Angela Choir (Indonesia); and in the afternoon, there will once again be polyphony and folklore performances by choirs from Germany, Italy and Slovenia. This will be followed by a special concert by the Sofia Vokalensemble Choir from Stockholm, Sweden, who will perform Arvo Pärt’s ‘Kanon Pokajanen’ at the Church of San Francisco.

The closing ceremony and awards presentation will take place on Sunday 1 November.
