Our Titirijai festival celebrates its 43rd anniversary this year, running from 22 to 30 November. This year, we will be able to enjoy 17 shows by fifteen different companies, with a total of 56 performances.

Of particular note is the presence of a company visiting Tolosa for the first time. They are from Belgium and are called O Quel Dommage. They will present the show “Ma Tache”, which received the Jury Prize at the International Children’s Festival of Bucharest and the prize for best creative work at the International Children’s Festival of Kotor (Montenegro). Once again, we will be joined by the Italian company Zaches, who on this occasion will bring us the latest show in their trilogy, “Pinocchio”. The magic returns once again after “Cinderella” and “Little Red Riding Hood”, which we saw in previous editions. In this edition, we will also be able to see the latest from the Galician company Nauta, “Ephimeros”, performed here in Tolosa at the Creation Residence.

Once again, we are repeating the puppet exhibition in the shop windows of Tolosa and this year, instead of having a Christmas theme, the protagonists will be Gelede mask puppets. These puppets were the subject of a temporary exhibition years ago at the TOPIC and, after being acquired a year ago, we will be able to see them during the Festival in the Sala Ambigú.

Titirijai is part of RITTO, the Network of International Puppet and Object Theatre Festivals in Autumn. This year, we will be visited by three prominent directors from festivals in Chile, Brazil and Italy, thanks to the support of ACE’s international visitors programme.
